It’s a joy to run on the Princeton University campus, and some of the surrounding streets and paths. The 600-acre campus is among the prettiest and most impressive anywhere, with many buildings built in the Gothic style. One can do 3-4 miles around the campus’ crisscrossing paths between Alexander St. & Murray Pl. east-west and from Rt. 27 south to the canal. Elm Dr. through the middle of campus is a good anchor. Don’t miss the ivy-covered Nassau Hall, which was the largest stone building in the American colonies.

Add-Ons: Just south of Alexander St., there are 2-3 miles lovely paths through woods and around open fields in the Charles H. Rogers Wildlife Refuge/Institute Woods/Princeton Battlefield State Park. There are also some pretty, tree-lined roads with attractive homes. Favorites are Prospect Ave. heading north of campus, and, south of campus we love Library Ln., Elm Rd., and Mercer St. (see our route there).
