All of the most popular running routes in Valparaíso incorporate a section of the beautiful Valparaíso waterfront. It’s possible to run for nearly 15 km along the water from Valparaíso, headed northeast. Runners can pick up the concrete walkway anywhere in between Mulle Baron and Caleta Portales (it’s about 2.3 km). From Caleta Portales, it’s possible to continue northeast along Paseo Wheelwright, Av. Espana, and Av. Marina to the Puente Casino (km 6.5). Once at the Viña del Mar Casino, runners can continue along the water for 8.5 km to Playa Cochoa. The 5 km section along Playa Blanca in Viña del Mar is particularly spectacular, with stone-paved walkways surrounded by verdant parkland. Note there are some rolling hills.
