Features:
Parque Los Villares (Los Villares Park) located in the Sierra Morena mountains just north of Córdoba, is a worth-it spot for a destination run. The greenery and shade also make this a good option on a hot day. There are several km of trails, ranging from more gently landscaped ‘botanical garden’ trails to some more rugged, hilly trail running through dense woods of pine and holm oak with typical Mediterranean scrub. There are several signposted trails. Two of the longer ones that are good for running:
Botanico: 2.3 km trail with interpretive signs describing the Mediterranean landscape. At the southern end of the park.
Sierra Morena. 3.2 km, more of a trail run, but not difficult. Part of a longer distance trail that passes through the Parque.
- Botanico Trail is 2.3 km; Sierra Morena Trail is 3.2 km.
- Hilly
- Visitor Center is a good startring point
