For an easier, wide trail with a good surface, we recommend some of the trails in the Graveyard Wash area, west of town. Specifically, the Enepitsi Trail follows an old pioneer road between the banks of the Santa Clara River and cliffs of Land Hill. Great views of the area landscape, and you might see prehistoric petroglyphs and pioneer graffiti. Also called the ‘Ghost Trail’, it’s 1.5 miles and fairly flat. You might be able to run as much as 3.6 miles to the Anasazi Trailhead off S. Anasazi Rd., but note it gets steeper and the surface more challenging.

Note: The trail names in this area are a bit confusing. Google Maps calls it the Anasazi Trail, and the access point to the Enepitsi Trail is from the Tukupetsi Trailhead. The BLM has more details on these trails.
