Priest Point Park is a nice spot near downtown Olympia for an easy and scenic trail run. The 300-acre park has 3-4 miles of nature trails, some more wooded and some more open toward the water, with mud flats at the water’s edge. At the eastern end of the park is the Samarkand Rose Garden.

For a longer run or a standalone run, we recommend taking East Bay Drive south toward downtown. It’s mostly along the water, and there’s a decent sidewalk. It’s 2 miles from the Priest Point Park trailhead south to East Bay Waterfront Park, and another 1 mile along the path on the west side of East Bay to the Olympia Rowing Club. Mission Creek Nature Park is 0.7 miles east of East Bay Dr. (use San Francisco Ave.), and has 1 mile of trails on a soft rock surface.
