See the Robin Hood statue, Nottingham Castle, Arboretum, parks, and other key sites in this 5-mile ‘runseeing’ tour of historic Nottingham! Note, it’s hilly!
Arboretum. CC: John Sutton
Start at the Robin Hood Statue or at Old Market Square. The first section is a quick tour of the grounds around the hilltop Nottingham Castle. Next, run on the grand Peveril Dr. for 0.5 miles to The Park Estate, a grand home that’s now also a small park amidst a posh residential area. Then, turn RIGHT on Tunnel Rd., heading east for 0.4 miles to Derby Rd., which leads to the Nottingham General Cemetery, where you can run respectfully along its paths which lead to the Arboretum. Enjoy 1/2 mile of paths around the nice grounds there, and then use Waverly St. to head briefly north into the Forest Recreation Ground, a decent sized park with fields and ~1 mile of paths. Exit the southern end, and use either Addiston St. or N Sherwood St. to head south back into the historic section of Nottingham, and the grand Old Market Square & St. Peters Square.

There are many miles of paths along the Trent River, mostly on the south bank. These are lovely trials with nice water views, and several bridges allowing for shorter and longer loops.
At the eastern end of the Trent River trails, there's scenic running around the Colwick Marina and a series of lagoons. Do a ~3.5 loop on wide, gravel paths, with great water views. Add with River Trent trails
Toward the western end of the Trent River trails, scenic trails at the Attenborough Nature Reserve wind for 4.5 miles around the River Trent and a series of canals and adjacent lagoons. Great water & wildlife views.
Wonderful running on the grounds of this significant English manor: tree-lined allées, landscaped gardens, open meadows, and a small lake. Can combine with University of Nottingham grounds & Highfields Park.
Run on trails in the forest made famous by the legend of Robin Hood, and see nearly 1,000 oak trees more than 500 years old, including the 1,000-year-old Major Oak. Four waymarked trails and additional bridle paths.
