Nottingham is a lovely city in the East Midlands, situated along the lower valley of the River Trent, with Sherwood Forest to the north. It’s a popular visitor destinations, known for its links to to the legend of Robin Hood and to the lace-making, bicycle, and tobacco industries. There are some great options for running in Nottingham. Much of it is centered around paths along the River Trent.
A good way to see Nottingham on foot is our ‘runseeing‘ tour, which includes Nottingham Castle, the Arboretum, and other key sites. There’s terrific running along the many miles of paths along the River Trent, with Colwick Country Park and Attenborough Nature Reserve providing additional waterfront running in at the eastern and western ends of the paths, respectively. Runners will also love historic Wollaton Hall/Park, for its tree-lined allées, landscaped gardens, and open meadows.
Nottingham has an excellent bus and tram system, providing easy access to most of our running routes.
