See the Robin Hood statue, Nottingham Castle, Arboretum, parks, and other key sites in this 5-mile ‘runseeing’ tour of historic Nottingham! Note, it’s hilly!

Arboretum. CC: John Sutton

Start at the Robin Hood Statue or at Old Market Square. The first section is a quick tour of the grounds around the hilltop Nottingham Castle. Next, run on the grand Peveril Dr. for 0.5 miles to The Park Estate, a grand home that’s now also a small park amidst a posh residential area. Then, turn RIGHT on Tunnel Rd., heading east for 0.4 miles to Derby Rd., which leads to the Nottingham General Cemetery, where you can run respectfully along its paths which lead to the Arboretum. Enjoy 1/2 mile of paths around the nice grounds there, and then use Waverly St. to head briefly north into the Forest Recreation Ground, a decent sized park with fields and ~1 mile of paths. Exit the southern end, and use either Addiston St. or N Sherwood St. to head south back into the historic section of Nottingham, and the grand Old Market Square & St. Peters Square.
