Start at the Marina with a 1 km out and back jaunt out to the pier. Then, wind around the marina to the Bd. de la Baie de Chingudy, where a quai path runs along the Bidaosa River for 1.5 km, ending at the War Memorial just past the skatepark. Retrace your steps to the marina. At this point, you’ll be at 6.3 km. The next section is on the wide sidewalk of the Bd. de la Mer, along the Plage d’Hendaye (beach), which is famous for the Deux-Jumeaux (rocks in the Bay). The promenade runs for 2 km, ending at the hospital. You can extend for another 0.5 km along the very runnable beach.
Note: Hendaye Beach is one of the best beaches for running along the French Basque coast. The ~3 km beach is flat, wide, and features excellent firm sand. It’s also very scenic!
