The grounds around the Blaise Castle Estate and Kings Weston House are another spot for scenic run on paths around former castle/estate grounds. The Blaise Castle Estate, located 5 miles northeast of Bristol, is a 650-acre property with extensive grounds and a lovely series of footpaths. The paths connect to Kings Weston House, a historical landmark that’s a popular site for weddings and events. The paths are a combination of landscaped grounds, parkland, meadows, and wooded sections. The area around the Blaise estate is hilly Note: The estate grounds are free but there’s a fee for parking.

The distance from Blaise Castle to Kings Weston is ~3 miles. For even more, a gravel path runs south from Blaise Castle along the River Tym for ~1 mile. We’ve mapped the 4 mile one-way route that can be used as a guideline. There’s also a series of waymarked ‘walks’ on the footpaths that can be combined for all sorts of fun running! Each has its own map and leaflet: Castle Walk, Gorge Walk, Rhododendron Walk, Kings Weston Down Walk, and The Royals and St Mary’s Church Walk. At Kings Weston, don’t miss the 300m tree-lined Echo Walk.
