This scenic 10k run features paths along the Chippewa River and along Halfmoon Lake. Most of it is on a section of the 30-mile Chippewa River State Trail. The path starts downtown off W Madison St., with a 2 mile loop north to the High Bridge (pedestrian bridge) and then back to Phoenix Park, using both banks of the river. Then, continue through Phoenix Park on the Chippewa River State Trail, crossing the Eau Claire River, and then take the pedestrian bridge to cross to the west side of the Chippewa River. Run for 2 miles on the west bank of the river, through Owen Park, to Highway 12. For the return, run on a spur of the Chippewa River Trail along the east side of Halfmoon Lake, which features nice views.

Add-Ons: Paths in Carson Park, just across from the trail along Halfmoon Lake. Or, more along the Chippewa River State Trail and some additional downtown area parks.
