The Batumi Botanical Garden, located 10 km north of downtown, is a major site to see in Batumi. It’s also OK to run in the garden, though we would recommend doing it at quieter times and discreetly. There are 2,000 different species represented in 3 gardens and 9 geographic zones, connected by a series of walking & hiking trails. Among the highlights are the many species of trees, including a 125-year-old flowering magnolia. The subtropical climate of Batumi supports these vibrant and lush gardens. GARDEN MAP

For walking or running, the Garden is 100 hectares in size. There are some gentler walking paths, and some steeper off-road trails. The main, paved path through the garden connecting the south entrance and the west entrance is 2.75 km. An out and back is 5.5 km, involving a 200m gain. There are numerous additional offshoot trails and loop options, many of which are unpaved. One highlight is the Liriodendron Bridge.
Note: Open 9am-5:30pm. Admission fee required.
