One can easily put together 10 km of running along the beautiful paths of two of Łódź’ centrally located parks: Józef Piłsudski Park & Józef Poniatowski Park. Run them standalone or combined!
Józef Piłsudski Park. Google Street View
Józef Piłsudski Park is a classic European park, built mainly between the two world wars. Create your own route here along the many km of wide allées and some narrower paths. The park features several small ponds at its middle. There are three broad axes, including the aleja Generała Gustawa Orlicz-Dreszera, which runs off Konstantynowska, headed west. It’s ~2.3 km north-south and ~1 km east-west. At the northern end of the park is a sports/athletic fields area, with a nice 1.3 km oval around the perimeter, which makes for some nice laps.
To combine with Józef Poniatowski Park, it’s 1 km from the southern end of Piłsudski Park — see our route map. It’s a bit tricky as the area is a tangle of highways.
Józef Poniatowski Park. This is another great park for running. It’s a bit more classically designed than Piłsudski Park. There are wide allées, designed in the English garden style, some ornamental lawns, and a sizeable pond at its western end. There are several km of paths. A loop is ~3 km. Józef Poniatowski park is the site of a weekly parkrun.
Add-On: Piotrkowska Street is just to the east. This 4.2 km street is one of the longest commercial thoroughfares in Europe and is a tourist attraction in Łódź.

Run on one of the longest commercial thoroughfares in Europe! The central axis of Łódź is also a major tourist attraction. It's 4.2 km between Liberty Square & Independence Square, much of it pedestrianized. Adjacent parks are good add-ons.
A lovely linear park run headed east & north of central Łódź. Start in Park Staromiejski and run through Park Helenów, Park Ocalałych, & Park im. Szarych Szeregów. Lovely paths, gardens, and additional facilities. 7-8 km out & back, with additional paths for more.
A nice run just east of Piotrkowska through several parks, nearly nearly all on park & connector pedestrian paths. Includes Park Źródliska, Park nad Jasieniem, & Park Baden-Powella/Park 3 Maja. Each of the parks has its own character, making for a fun run.
Go for a trail run in one of the largest city forests in Europe! Łagiewnicki Forest (Las Łagiewnicki), located 10 km north of Łódź, features many km of wooded trails. There's also the scenic Arturowek Lake at the park's southwestern end.
A smaller, more manageable alternative to Łagiewnicki Forest. Also located in the northern part of Łódź, Okręglik Forest has 4-5 km of heavily forested trails that are good for trail running. Good public transport access.
