There are some excellent spots for trail running in the Grand Rapids area. Here are some recommendations:

Luton Park. In Rockford, north of town. 9.7 miles of interconnected trails, with varying levels of surface/difficulty. Landscape is native prairie, pines, hardwoods, marshes and three bridge crossings over Rum Creek. This TRAIL MAP shows a few loop options. Main trailhead parking area off 10 Mile Rd.  Note: popular for mountain biking.

Cascade Peace Park. Nice hardwood forest trails located 13 miles east of Grand Rapids. Main trail is 4 miles. Access from 8900 Grand Ave.

Egypt Valley Trails. Located in Ada, 12 miles northeast of Grand Rapids. Mainly wooded terrain. There’s a 7.1 mile loop that’s popular for trail running. Trailhead off 4 Mile Rd. NE.
