Kenna Cartwright Nature Park

Creative Commons

Kenna Cartwright Nature Park, located at the southwestern edge of Kamloops, is a wonderful spot for some trail running. At 800 hectares, it’s the largest municipal park in BC, and features 40 km of trails. There’s something for everyone here, ranging from easy to challenging. There are great views of Kamloops and the surrounding mountains. The terrain is fairly open, with some more wooded/shaded sections.

This trail map shows the many trail options, rated from easy to very difficult. Things get increasingly challenging in the Mt. Dufferin area. Among the easier trails for running are the 2.4 mile Reservoir Trail, off of which several other trails flow. Hike Kamloops has some more detailed trail descriptions.
