The 18 km cycleway along the Geumho River is another excellent option for a longer distance off-road run in Daegu. This paved multi-use path runs alongside the left (east) bank of the river, paralleling Highway 11 (Sincheon-daero), but below it. It’s similar in nature to the Sincheon River path — open & exposed, with water & city views the whole way.
The south end of the path is at Mangu Park, just north of Highway 4. Head north for 7 km. At the km 1, there are additional paths in Sunrise Park. At km 3.3, there’s a separate pedestrian path for 1.5 km through a wider green space. At km 7, the path turns west along the river. At km 11.6, the Geumho River runs into the Sincheon River, and there’s a pedestrian bridge crossing the water and connecting to the Sincheon River path. Our mapped route continues for another 6 km along the Geumho west to Highway 55, to near the Gongdan Metro station. The cycleway continues for many km further, to to near Waryongsan Sangnibong.
Add-Ons/Variations. Connect to the Sincheon River path @ km 11.6, via a pedestrian bridge.
