The signature run in Huế is on the paths alongside the Perfume River. The route is centrally located, near the Imperial City, which is an important visitor destination. There are dedicated paths on both the north and south banks of the river, and loops can be done incorporating one of the three bridges that are in the city center. Bonus: Lit at night.

North Bank: The path along the north bank of the Perfume River runs for 5 km, between the Truong Tien Bridge and the Thien Mu Pagoda, just past the Pottery Museum. It’s most developed on the first 2 km to the Cầu Dã Viên Bridge, but it’s also possible to extend along Kim Long Ave. to the Thien Mu Pagoda. There are water views a good part of the way, and a leafy tropical canopy offering a respite from the city’s stifling heat. Can see the Citadel and other historical landmarks.

South Bank: There’s a dedicated path along the south bank of the river for 2.2 km, from February 3 Park (Công viên 3 Tháng 2) just east of the Truong Tien Bridge to the Cầu Dã Viên Bridge. There are river views, some historic French buildings, and sites including the Nguyen Dinh Chieu Walking Street, Le Ba Dang Art Museum. and Le Loi Park with its scenic Temple.

Loop Option: A popular loop is to run the north & south banks of the river between the Truong Tien Bridge & the Cầu Dã Viên Bridge. It’s 7.2 km.

Add-On: At the Cầu Dã Viên Bridge, can add with our sông An Cựu River route.
