Some of the nicest running in Wuxi is in the area of Taihu (Tai) Lake, which the third largest freshwater lake in China. Major cities around the lake include Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou and Huzhou. There are numerous lakeside trails & gardens, and several wetland areas that are also scenic.

A popular area for running on Taihu Lake is on a road/path at the northeast end of the lake. It’s nearly 11 km between the Wanghu Bridge and Gonghuwan Wetland Park. There are willow trees, several gardens, and bridges along the way.

There’s also some scenic running in the numerous connected wetland parks. It’s about from Gonghuwan Wetland Park and Yanhu Wetland Park, including Daxigang Wetland Park. The most scenic section is the 4 km between Gonghuwan East Gate and Yanhu Wetland Park. There are water views and nice greenery.

Another nice area for running is north and west in Changguangxi National Wetland Park, which connects Li Lake and Taihu Lake. There are scenic trails here too.
