The Cheyenne Greenway is a series of paved multi-use paths around Cheyenne that add up to nearly 40 miles, connecting several parks and key areas, and also providing good off-road options for pedestrians. The best and most seamless section of the Greenway is the nearly 8 miles that mainly run along Dry Creek. There are good spurs and connections from this main trail that make for variety or add-ons.
The paved Dry Creek Greenway runs from Western Hills Park in northwest Cheyenne, southeast to Dry Creek Park, at US 30. It’s nearly 8 miles and all off-road. Most of the trail runs along the (narrow and dry) Dry Creek — we wouldn’t consider this a waterfront route. The trail is a mix of residential, some commercial/industrial, and some nice parks. Some of the nicer sections:
- Miles 2-4, through Mylar Park, where we suggest connecting to Lions Park (~0.5 miles, use Yellowstone Rd.)
- Miles 6-8. Southeast section, Cahill Park to Dry Creek Park. Nice park-like area.
