This ‘runseeing’ tour of Kuala Lumpur starts at KLCC Park and hits many of the important sites and commercial areas. The route runs through Kampung Baru, Heritage, Little India, Merdeka Square/ River of Life, Petaling Street, Bukit Bintang, and some of the world’s tallest buildings! There are a fair number of turns, so best to download a map to an app that provides directions., or write it out beforehand. Our thanks to Liam F. for sending us this route! 

Start at the north end of KLCC Park. The first site is the Petronas Towers! Cross the Kelang River for a jaunt through historic Kampung Baru, with its stilted wooden houses. Make your way over to the Gombak River, where you’ll do a loop around the Merdeka Square area. Cross back over the river for a short loop around the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple area and through Chinatown, Little India, and the Petaling Street Market in the City Center area.

Take Jalan Chulan east, passing Kuala Lumpur Eco Park and Menara Kuala Lumpur — one of the world’s tallest buildings. The final section is Jalan Bukit Bintang, known for its upscale malls, stores, numerous bars & restaurants, and the sidewalk restaurants of Jalan Alor. Pass by the Pavilion Crystal Fountain and cut north through the The final section cuts through the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur — a huge mall, with upscale stores & eateries — back to KLCC park.
