One of our favorite places to run in the Albany area is around Peebles Island State Park, and the paths around the historic Erie Canal Lock. The riverside park has numerous mainly wooded trails, and a 2-mile Perimeter Trail featuring views of the Hudson River and Mohawk River. For a lovely add-on, we recommend the paved Old Champlain Canal Trail over the Second Street Bridge to the Erie Canal Lock E-2 and along canal. Great water views! The park and canal trail combined is nearly 5 miles.
The park is located 10 miles north of Albany.
Add-Ons: Additional interior park trails.
