A good off-road option for those who want some variety from the Lady Bird Lake Trail. The trail is more of a linear park, as it heads for about 3 miles from downtown north through a number of parks. Combination of paved and unpaved. The nicest sections are near the northern end. If you want to make the run a shorter there and back, start at the northern end and turn around at Pease Park/15th St., at the 2-mile mark. This trail is also a good option near the University of Texas campus. Note: As of May 2018, some sections of the trail have been re-routed due to storm damage.
Add-Ons: Great residential roads for running west of Lamar. Quiet roads with pretty homes. Hilly! At southern end, Lady Bird Lake Trail.
