Opened to honour Queen Sirikit’s 72nd birthday in 2004, Benchakitti Park is located in a busy, skyscraper-bedecked neighborhood next to the Convention Center. Like Lumphini Park, Benchakitti Park is one of the most popular places to run in Bangkok. The park is dominated by a scenic lake in the centre. To the west of the lake, there’s a network of interior paths winding through lush vegetation.
One can put together a run of several km in Benchakitti Park. Our 5k mapped route includes a nearly 2 km loop around Benchakitti Lake (there are distance markers and a water fountain), and then a loop around the park’s outer perimeter on straight, paved alley paths. For more km and variety, there are additional paved, straight alley paths (~1 km north-south, 0.5 km east-west). There are also windy, lush interior paths.
Longer Run: Combine with Lumphini Park, using the elevated Lumphini-Benchakitti Park Walkway, located at the northern end of both parks. Good marsh & skyline views!
