Bangor City Forest

Bangor City Forest is the largest interconnected trail system in the area. Located five miles north of town, the 686-acre Forest features 17.4 miles of mainly wooded trails. There’s something for everyone here: 4 miles of wide, gravel roads; and many miles of narrower trails through the woods, with some trickier footing. There are kiosks with maps throughout the Forest. Restrooms are at the Tripp Dr. parking area. Pretty in Autumn!

Easier running is on the gravel roads. Another good, easier option is the 4-mile East-West Loop Trail, which forms a perimeter around the Forest. More challenging is the 4 miles of ‘unimproved’ trails shown on the map.
