Clearwater Beach is one of the more popular and attractive beaches in Florida, and great for running.

Beach Run: The wide, white sand beach is also of Florida’s best running beaches, featuring firm, compact sand at water’s edge. Clearwater Beach itself extends north for nearly 6 miles, including Caladesi Island State Park. There’s also a 1 mile paved, palm-lined beachside path paralleling Gulfview Blvd. that includes a 0.2 mile jaunt out to Pier 60 and includes Pier 60 Park. Lots of fun shops and restaurants. Also miles of beach running from Sand Key Park, heading south toward St. Petersburg.

Road Run: For a good, paved option in the area, you can run on the beachside path from Pier 60 Park, south along Gufview Blvd., and then over the Gulf Blvd. Bridge — great views! — to Sand Key Park, where you can do a ~1.5 mile loop of the trails. There’s also miles of beach running possible here, heading south toward St. Petersburg.
