Cross Creek Linear Park & Central Fayetteville

Creative Commons 1.0: Tharskjold

The Cross Creek Linear Park trail is the best way for runners to explore central Fayetteville. The paved path runs for 2.8 miles between Festival Park and Riverside Dog Park. The trail winds its way along Cross Creek through several parks, skirting downtown, connecting historic sites and points of interest along the way. Note: The trail is not on Google Maps, and we did not map it.

From Festival Park, head southeast along the trail. You’ll cross Green St., where there’s a fountain and a nice view to Market House. Continue along, passing Fayetteville Veterans Park, to the trail end at Riverside Dog Park.

Add-Ons: From Riverside Dog Park at the south end, there are connections to the Cape Fear River Trail.  From the north end, head north for ~1 mile to Mazarick Park, where there’s a 1 mile paved multi-use path between Filter Plant Dr. & North Pearl St.
