The Noyo Headlands Trail is a gorgeous place to run in Fort Bragg, featuring wonderful water views from a coastal bluff. Fort Bragg, located 15 miles north of Mendocino, is a large military installation, with a population of 52,000.
The Noyo Trail runs along Noyo Point Road in Noyo Headlands Park. It’s an old paved road that was closed to the public until not long ago. Now, the road, closed to cars, is a wide paved trail that runs along the coastal bluff for nearly 5 miles, featuring spectacular views, parking, restrooms, and unique benches made by local artists and woodwork. There are also interpretive signs along the trail.
The northern end of the trail is off Elm St. near Glass Beach, and the southern end is just south of the Noyo Bridge at Oceanview Dr.
Add-Ons: There are some additional trails in Pomo Bluffs Park. And just north of Glass Beach, you add more beautiful coastal trail miles along the more rugged Mackerricher Trail.
