District 7: Phu My Hung

Wikimedia Commons

The Phu My Hung area of District 7 has been fairly recently developed, and it is one of the higher-end, expat-heavy, shopping-centric parts of Ho Chi Minh City. The area has some of the cleaner, wider roads for running in HCMC. There are two (connected) sections in this area that are good for running. In East Phu My Hung, using the Crescent Mall as an anchor, run along Tôn Dật Tiên, first along the golf course, and then the paths of the man-made Crescent Lake. The roads east of there, are also for running.

Then, take the Starlight Bridge over to West Phu My Hung. Running highlights here include Ho Ban Nguyet Park, which has 1-2 km of riverfront and garden paths, and some decent streets for running, heading west toward RMIT University (where there are some quieter sections for running and a nice grass field).

We’ve provided links to two publicly available Garmin Connect maps, which are helpful guides to the area.
