Features:
In addition to the waterfront paths, Kültürpark is the best place for a run in İzmir. This large, landscaped park features tree-lined paths and fountains. The Kültürpark name comes from the History and Arts Museum and other cultural venues located in the park. One can do several km within the park on its paths. A perimeter path is a 2 km loop, and it’s ~0.5 km north-south and 0.7 km east-west.
We’ve mapped a 5 km route that starts at the grand Cumhuriyet Meydanı square, using the grand Şht. Nevres Blvd. for 0.8 km to approach the park. Then do a loop, run a couple of interior paths, exiting the park onto Plevne Blvd. to run down to the Kordon (waterfront path). Head south on the path toward the Pasaport ferry terminal.
Add-Ons: Additional paths in the park, more km along the Kordon paths. Also, the wider streets between Kültürpark are runnable.
