Ancol is the coastal area of north Jakarta. Here, you’ll find the Taman Impian Jaya Ancol recreation area, which contains restaurants, market places, two beaches, a theme park, and a marina. It’s a popular weekend recreation spot for Jakartans.
The “eco parks” within the theme park area include numerous well-maintained tracks that are perfect for running. Ancol area also offers a 2 km seaside promenade which goes all the way from Indah Beach to Carnaval Beach. Our route starts at the entrance of the theme park, loops around the Allianz Ecopark, and then joins the promenade for 2 km. To avoid crowds it is best to do this run early in the morning before 8 am, or in the afternoon after 5 pm.

The 6 km loop around Ragunan Zoo is one of the most popular routes in the city, featuring over 200 animal species and some impressive exotic trees and plants.
During the week, Sudirman Road is jammed with traffic, but on Sunday mornings during car-free hours (6 am-11 am) the big boulevard turns into a great place to run.
The tracks around the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium are very popular with runners on weekday mornings. It's a good option for those working or staying in the Surdiman Rd. area and the Convention Center.
The National Monument is surrounded by an 80 hectare park, one of the largest city parks in Asia, which includes shaded running paths. A loop around the perimeter is 4.2 km.
Paved waterfront paths along Jakarta Bay on two islands that are part of a new development of restaurants, shopping, beaches, and outdoor recreation. Overall, the run can be up to 10 km. Great views and all off-road.
20 km route through beautiful off-road trails in the Bogor district, about 50km south of Jakarta. Great mountain and rice field views along the way. Options for longer and shorted. IdGuides offers wonderful guided runs on the trails.
