Enjoy a scenic run that also includes the easternmost point in the Americas! The highlight of running in João Pessoa is the seafront promenade, which offers nearly uninterrupted views of Tambaú and Cabo Branco beaches and the South Atlantic for nearly 8 km. It’s a festive scene, with lots of folks walking, running, and cycling on the path that’s a mix of sidewalk, bike path, and brick promenade. The waterfront is lined with bars and nightclubs, and shops selling local woodcarvings and pottery.
Google Street View
The south end of the path is at Cabo Branco Lighthouse, which is officially the easternmost point in the Americas. Enjoy the panoramic views. The north end is just north of the Mag shopping mall, where the road turns inland.
Note: The beach is fantastic but it’s not great for running, as it’s mainly soft sand. Might be able to run right next to the water, depending on tides.
