Oak-Wood Park. Wikipedia

A nice running option in southeastern Kaunas combining paths along the Nemunas River and a large, pine forest park. Can be combined with our Right Bank route from the Panemunė Bridge.

From Panemunė Bridge, run on the south/east bank of the river on a roadside cycle path.  Then, enter Panemunė Pinewood Park and continue on the dedicated path along the river. After another 1.5 km, the path turns inland for 1 km. Cross the historic Bridge of The Three Virgins — a wide, nicely lit pedestrian bridge. This is your turnaround point! For the return, options to retrace your steps or run on the paths of the forest park. Our mapped route uses the Lakštingalų al. path for ~2.2 km. Then, RIGHT on Vaidilos g. to return to the start.  Add-Ons: Additional paths in the forest park — there are kiosks with maps that can be helpful.

Add-On: Right Bank Path. Cross the Panemunė Bridge and run for up to 7 km along the right bank of the Nemunas River to the Great Bridge in central Kaunas. ROUTE MAP
