Paths Around the Open Air Museum of Lithuania

Google Street View

This is a pleasant run on the walking paths in the park-like terrain around the Open-Air Museum of Lithuania (LLB Museum). The museum featured a combination of indoor and outdoor exhibits focused on the ethnographic regions of Lithuania, and sits on 195 hectares of land on the eastern shore of the Kaunas Lagoon.

There are 7-8 km of paths, and the terrain is fairly open. We’ve mapped a 5.6 km loop around the perimeter. You’ll pass numerous historic buildings and outdoor exhibits. It’s a popular area for walking, so it’s OK to run. There are WC facilities along the trails.

Just to the west, there are some forested trails that are good for hiking/trail running.

Essentials
  • We've mapped a 5.6 km (3.5 mile) loop around the perimeter; overall there are 7-8 km of paths
  • Rolling hill terrain
  • Near main museum building or either of the two parking areas
  • Two parking areas: Near the main museum building or the Arbatine tearoom
