It is possible to run the High Line Walkway — a public park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. Since it opened in 2009, the 1.5 mile High Line has become a popular visitor destination, for its walkability, great views of the river & skyline, landscaping, and public art. NEW: Moynihan Connector from W 31st St., providing access from Moynihan Hall (Penn Station).

The High Line runs 30 feet above street level from the Javits Center near W 34th St. west to Gansevoort St. in the Meatpacking District near the Whitney Museum. It is permitted, and very popular, to run the High Line. However, this walkway can get very crowded. We recommend going early — you will see other runners!

Add-Ons: Great opportunity to add more miles along the Hudson River Greenway. At the south end of the Highline, access the Greenway just south of Pier 76. At the north end, access at Pier 53.
