The Bois des Espeisses (Espeisses Woods) is the go-to green spot for running in Nîmes. The 82-hectare area, located 2 km north of the city, features several km of well-marked trails through gently wooded terrain. A good shade option on a hot day! There’s a stretching area, water fountains, & picnic tables.
For running, the most comprehensive route is the 4.3 km Discovery Trail (Sentier de Découverte). This trail overlaps with sections of other marked trails in the park: brown (1.2 km); yellow (1.3 km); red (3 km); and green (4.9 km). The trails generally have good footing. There are some ups & downs.
