Palma: Parks, Promenade, Canal Tour

Lana Bukvic

This is a great 7 km loop incorporating several small but pretty parks, a section along a canal, the plaza around the Cathedral, and seaside promenade. It skirts the outside of the Old City.

We start at Plaza España, gateway to Parma and adjacent to the Metro station. Run through the pretty Parc de les Estacions, then taking the wide, tree-lined Carrer de Gabriel Maura south to Ctra. de Manacor, turning LEFT to get into the Parc Kreković. Enjoy these paths and exit onto Carrer de Manuel Azaña, to cross over to the seaside promenade (Paseo Maritimo). Here, you can run along the seaside path for 2 km, OR along the large pedestrian plaza of the Cathedral, with its spectacular fountain. Just past the Modern Art Musuem, head into the Parc de Sa Feixina. At the other side of the park is the Pont de la Porta de Santa Caterina landmark, where you’ll enjoy 1 km along the canal-side paths paralleling the iconic Passeig de Mallorca. For the final 1 km, head east on any one of the side streets. Carrer dels Oms is a good bet.

Add-Ons: At the end of canal path, some paths around the University; Loop around the Passeig de Mallorca; La Rambla; Sections of our old city tour or Promenade.
