This route won’t win any awards for scenery or peacefulness, but for those looking for a road run in the Chaweng & Choeng Mon, this is among your best bets. It’s on some of the main roads, but there are decent enough sidewalks a good part of the way (but there are a few sketchy sections). T The route was inspired by Tom Wake.
The 8.7 mile route can start on Chaweng Beach Road, just south of the airport, or in Choeng Mon near the hotels. Run the main road (4171) counterclockwise toward Choeng Mon Beach, then head west on it toward Big Buddha Pier. There’s a nice section along the Hat Bang Rak and beach there. Leave the 4171, turning LEFT on Thanon Bond Kai, the road just west of the airport, run south for ~1 mile, and then LEFT again at the 7-11 on the road just south of the airport. Follow that road, to connect back to the Chaweng Beach Road.
Shorter Option (6.0 miles): Instead of going all the way along Bang Rak beach, take Sanam Bin Road east of the airport and head south to rejoin Chaweng Beach Road.
Add-Ons: Beach running in Chaweng or Bang Rak.
- Long option: 14 km (8.7 miles). Short Option: 9.7 km (6 miles)
- Long Option: 129m (426 feet). Two hills are near the airport and on the road back to Chaweng.
