West Cliff Drive

West Cliff Drive offers wonderful coastal running along a multi-use path, from downtown to Natural Bridges State Park. There are great views on the road that runs above the water, with Seal Rock/Lighthouse Point being one of the scenic highlights. Start out from the east end of Municipal Wharf (right downtown) and head west along the water. The path ends after 2.8 miles at Natural Bridges State Beach — the perfect place to rest and enjoy the views. There are mile markers embedded in the sidewalk.

Add-Ons: Add another mile by going to the end of the Santa Cruz Wharf and back. Also, there are some nice coastal sections on Beach St. heading east of the Wharf.

Essentials
  • 2.8 miles (4.5 km) one-way, 5.6 miles (9 km) out and back
  • 127 feet
  • Municipal Wharf, in downtown Santa Cruz
  • Buses run from downtown to Natural Bridges pretty regularly
