The path along the River Avon offers a pleasant waterfront run in Stratford-Upon-Avon. The path extends from a car park 0.7 miles north of the center of Stratford for 3 miles south. We’ve mapped an out and back, using the west side of the river going out, then looping back on the east side. The surface is a combination of gravel and dirt/grass. It can get muddy in rainy weather. The terrain is a combination of river views, woods, and some open fields. The last 0.5 miles is along the Stratford Recreation Ground.

Add-Ons/Variations: You can combine the River Avon Path with the Stratford to Long Marston Greenway. The two trails intersect at Seven Meadows Rd., and also at the turnaround point for the loop run, where the Greenway continues south toward Milcote and Long Marston. You can also add on at the Stratford Recreation Ground, where a loop around the perimeter is ~5k.

Essentials
  • 4.7 miles (7.6 km) loop
  • 121 feet (37m)
  • North End: Car Park about 0.7 miles north of Stratford center
  • Car Park at north end trailhead
