Tiger Road is a favorite of the Breckenridge Running Club for training. It’s also a good option in winter, when many of the multi-use paths & trails in the area are snow-covered. Tiger Rd. is located 4 miles north of downtown Breckenridge. It’s one of the longer, uninterrupted roads in the area that’s not a major highway. There’s a decent shoulder alongside the road.
A good option is to park at the Breckenridge Golf Club, which is near the beginning of the road. Parking is free, and there’s a bathroom in the clubhouse. The first ~1.3 miles of Tiger Rd. are fairly flat. Then the road features a gradual climb — steepest between miles 2 and 3. Overall, it’s a ~400 foot climb over the first 4.5 miles. We’ve mapped 5.5 miles to North Fork Swan Rd. There’s a porta-potty @2.3 miles from the Golf Club.
