For runners with a bit of extra time on their hands, a trip across the water to Gig Harbor can be a fun destination run. This “Maritime City” has lots of cute homes, shops, and waterfront views. Harborview Drive is the main attraction, with a sidewalk alongside that is pleasant for running and has some occasional water views. It’s up to 2 miles one-way.
Runners can add additional 3 miles on the nearby Cushman Poweline Trail. It’s a paved, mainly wooded trail that runs for 2.7 miles between Grandview St. & Borghen Blvd.
