Features:
Most streets in Taos are not ideal for running, but one scenic exception is the route to Taos Pueblo. The views of the surrounding mountain range are stunning. Plus, you’ll get to visit one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in the United States. The adobe structures of Taos Pueblo are a UNESCO World Heritage site. To get there, simply follow the Town of Taos Highway north for ~2 miles. It’s relatively lightly trafficked, and there is a slight shoulder bordered by scenic ranchland. For an even quieter route, runners can also take Star Road or Little Deer Horn Road all the way to the Pueblo.
NOTE:Â Running in the Pueblo is generally not permitted. Also, there are specific hours and admission fees. See this LINK for visiting hours.

Around 06:45 on 15 March 2023 I attempted to take this run. I was turned away at a gate by a guard who said that the road was closed to visitors
Tried this on 8/19 around 0800 and was also turned around by Pueblo PD. I don’t think you can use this road except when the Pueblo is open to visitors.
I was stopped by tribal police. They do not allow running nor any kind recreation on tribal lands. Restricted access only for tribal members. Was also told if i tried to run it again I would be charged with trespassing.
