Tirana Park is THE place to run in Tirana. This large, centrally located park features a wonderful variety — woods, an artificial lake, open fields, an exercise pitch, running track, botanical garden, a zoo, and several restaurants & cafes. Bonus: the main trails are lit at night! Note: the botanical garden is west of the E852 highway and is not that easy to access from the park.

The park is located just south of the historical downtown section of Tirana. There are two main loops that are popular with runners. The main perimeter loop is the longest option, at 6.4 km. Starting at the Liqueni car park at the northern end of the lake, the first ~3.8 km is common to all the route options. Follow this path counterclockwise along the western & southern sides of the lake. At the 3.2 km mark, there’s a path that leads to a particularly nice view point. At the 3.8 km mark, there are options:
Outer Loop: Keep following the outer perimeter path, passing the exercise path, Parku i Madh, & amphitheater. There’s a running track @5.3 km.
Lake Loop: This inner 5.7 km loop follows the lake’s perimeter more closely. The eastern section is a bit away from the lake, though there are some lake views. There’s an outdoor gym and outdoor movie theater.
Middle Loop: A middle path, between the outer & lake paths, passes by the ÇEZMA bar and two cafes.
Add-Ons: Additional paths in the park. This route can also be combined with our Tirana ‘runseeing’ tour & Lana River route.

A short 'runseeing' tour of the central & historical sections of Tirana, passing by the important cultural & architectural highlights. A curious mix of older/historic, brutalist Soviet-era, and modern styles. Add on with Lana River paths, Tirana Park.
There are sidewalks/paths along both banks of the Lana River, which runs through the heard of downtown Tirana. A full loop is a neat 10k! Centrally located and easy to follow, with some nice trees and views of the narrow river.
A nice running destination in the eastern part of Tirana. The park features hiking/walking paths and a more open landscape around the artificial Farka Lake. It's possible to do a ~7 km loop of the lake, though some sections of the path are more developed than others.
Some nice lake & mountain views while running in this park in the northern part of Tirana. A paved walkway around Paskuqanit Lake makes for a ~4 km lake loop. The Rruga Ali Demi trail runs for 1.25 km between the north and south ends of the park.
Many visitors to Tirana head to west the Adriatic port city of Durrës for its beaches. There are several nice sections of waterfront running, plus a 'history run' in town incorporating Roman ruins and a seafront park. Beaches are also runnable, situationally.
