This is a terrific 8 km tour of Old Yerevan, which includes some of the city’s major historical & cultural sites, numerous parks, and the Cascade Stairs, where you can feel Rocky-like! The route is mainly inside the circular road around Old Yerevan.
Start with a loop of the grand Republic Square, enjoying its fountains and impressive History Museum. Then, head through the tree and fountain lined Shahumyan Park. The next section is a ~1 km loop around three adjacent parks: the paths of Children’s Park, the tree-lined Vardanyan’s Park (more fountains), and English Park. Then, use Movses Khorenatsi St. & Petros Adamyan St. to access Circular Park. Starting at the south end, Circular Park is a linear park that runs for 3 km around the eastern end of Old Yerevan (note:a bit of zigzagging to find the path at some points)
Circular Park
At the north end at Poplavok Park, exit into Alexander Tamanyan Park, with its impressive Alexander Tamanyan Statue. A highlight is the Cascade Stairs, a series of stairs climbing through landscaped gardens, fountains & sculptures, and the Cafesjian Center for the Arts. Conclude the run by heading back down the stairs, then south through Martiros Saryan/Komitas Park, passing the impressive Concert Hall, Opera & Ballet Theatre, Freedom Square, and the mainly pedestrianized Northern Ave., which is lined with shops & restaurants.

The Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial sits within an imposing open plaza area. It's suitable to run here, except in the immediate vicinity of the Memorial. A loop around the paths is ~5 km, combination open square and tree-lined alleys.
One of Yerevan's best parks for running. Located just north the Cascade Complex (but cut off from the historic centre by Saralanji St.), Victory Park features several memorials & monuments, a lake, and a scenic lookout at its eastern end. ~3 km of paths.
Komitas Park is a good spot just south of Old Yerevan for some off-road running. There are pleasant, open paths around the park and some tree-lined alleys. It's possible to do ~1.5 km laps. Can be combined with our Old Yerevan route, using Arshakunyats Ave.
Lovely spot for a run in the Nor Zeytun neighborhood in northeast Yerevan. About 3 km of wide walking paths. Please use discretion and respect and don't run when busy or in crowded areas.
Jrvezh Forest Park, located 10 km east of Yerevan, is a worth-it spot for a destination run. There are scenic paths around open terrain dotted with trees. We've mapped a suggested loop of ~5 km. Note: very hilly!
For some off-road laps with a nice view, head to Vardavar Lake in the Argishti district. There's a paved path around the lake, making for a 1.2 km loop. There are views of the lake the whole way. Some of the side streets west of the lake are OK for running too.
