Just off the Mount Vernon Trail is Roosevelt Island, a memorial to Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President. The park has several trails on a designed landscape. A statue of the President sits just over the bridge. The island is accessed by footbridge near the Rosslyn metro station.

The island is also site which hosts a weekly Parkrun, Saturdays 9am. The course is run on a mixture of packed earth paths, gravel paths, causeway and all weather planking through the wetlands. Course Description. (Source: Parkrun)
