A registered National Natural Landmark. Garden of the Gods Park features dramatic views, and 300′ towering sandstone rock formations against a backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak. This popular natural tourist attraction features 15 miles of scenic trails through this beautiful “garden” of sandstone rock formations. For running, The best loop for running is actually a combination of several trails through the main sights of the park. Combine the Palmer Trail, the Buckskin Charlie Trail, The Scotsman Trail, The Bretag Trail, and the Ute trail for a reliable 3.5 mile loop, shown in the route map. The Central Garden Trail is a paved, flat 1.5 mile loop accessible from the main parking lot. The main road though the park, Garden Drive/Juniper Way has a decent shoulder and offers a challenging 6 mile loop with a 15% grade. Among the other trails, some are better for running, while others are a bit more challenging and good for hiking
