Furman University, located 6 miles north of Greenville on Swan Lake, is a popular spot in the area for walking and running. The 940-acre campus is pretty and very green, with its Bell Tower sitting on the edge of the lake, Thoreau replica cabin, and numerous walking paths and trails. A run around Furman can also be combined with the Swamp Rabbit Trail, runs along the western side of the lake. There’s a running track in the the athletics complex area at the southern end of the university.

Combine this with some trails and paths around the Intramural Field on the northeast side of the lake, and additional trails between Old Roe Ford Rd. and Highway 276. You can even sneak onto the golf course when it’s quiet!

This 10k out and back route through several parks along the Reedy River is the signature run in Greenville. The anchor is Falls Park on the Reedy, which borders downtown. It's also a section of the 22-mile Swamp Rabbit Trail.
The Swamp Rabbit Trail is a 22-mile paved multi-use greenway that traverses the banks of the Reedy River, an old railroad corridor, and numerous parks. This route is the 11-mile section that heads north from Greenville to Travelers Rest.
A 7 mile tour of downtown Greenville, exploring the commercial sections of Main St., several small parks, and attractive residential streets winding through four historic districts. A few 'connections' aren't so pretty.
Anchored by Cleveland Park and McDaniel Ave., this area features leafy residential streets, historic homes, and 2-3 miles of trails through the park. Optional: Green Forest Park, which has an 0.5 mile wooded trail.
Lovely, natural park on the Reedy River, south of Greenville. 6 miles of natural trails, 6 miles of paved trails and 4,000 feet of boardwalks through forests and around wetlands. Includes a 4 mile section of the Swamp Rabbit Trail.
Oak Grove Lake Park, Legacy Park, and Greer City Park are close to Greenville and are good for a short run or laps. For some trail running, head to the popular Paris Mountain State Park, or the Issaqueena Lake Trail.
