For those who want an option away from the water and mountains, we’ve put together a route through four adjacent parks skirting the outskirts of the Antiguo section of San Sebastián.
Aiete Park. Wikimedia Commons
Start in the park at the western end of La Concha, at the foot of Monte Igueldo. Our first section is a brief out and back to the famous Peine Del Viento sculpture on a waterfront path. Then, head through the pretty park on the edge of the Ondarreta Beach, and then through the gardens/grounds of the stately Miramar Palace. The next section is a not so pleasant 1.5 km along the Pío Baroja Pasealekua — a busy road with decent sidewalks, on the edge of Bosque de Miramar, involving a 70m climb with some steep grades. This gets you to Aiete Park, an attractive landscaped park featuring gardens and a historic mansion. A loop around the park is ~1 km. For the return, retrace your steps OR use the Santserreka Pasealekua road. The final section is on the waterfront path alongside La Concha.
Add-Ons/Options: Combine with La Concha promenade route, or our Monte Igueldo route.
