Amman, Jordan

Wasfi Al Tal Forest

Wasfi Al Tal is a forest located to the far northeast of Amman. This quiet, isolated area is a bit off the beaten track, but the array of wide dirt roads sprawling through this national park are worth the trip. Crossfit Crescent and the Amman Road Runners have mapped a route through the majority of the park. It starts near the Security Officers Club off highway 35 and charts a 13 km course along the border of the Balqa and Jerash Governorates. Most of the route follows straightforward forest roads, though there are a few sections on groomed trails. There are also lots of rolling hills, making this one of the better routes for a long, challenging run.

Special thanks to Crossfit Crescent, Amman Road Runners, and Running Amman for their help with this route.
