Some of the best parks in Chengdu are along the edge of the Chengdu Ring Road Expressway (G4201, the outer ring road). It’s possible to string these parks together on a “greenbelt”-style cycleway that spans from Jincheng Park northeast to Qinglong Lake. Run the path itself or use it as an anchor for several good running spots it connects.

Greenway Path. Maps of the route are tough to find, but the rough trajectory is from Jincheng Park to Yinhu Sports Park, across the Jinjiang River, and into the beautiful Bailuwan Wetland area. From here, the cycleway bends north to meet the paths of Qinglong Lake in Shiling Forest Park. As a whole, the cycleway is about 25 km, but almost any section makes a great run. Some of the best places to start are Jincheng Park, Bailuwan Wetland, and Qinglong Lake.
Good Parks for Running. A loop around the lakes of Jincheng Park is about 8 km, a loop around Bailuwan Wetland can be 4 km or more, and a loop of Qinglong Lake can total up to 12 km, with additoinal paths in Shiling Forest.

Run the streets of central Chengdu with our 16 km ‘runseeing’ tour! Highlights include ChunXi Road, Tianfu Square, People's Park, Kuan and Zhai Alley, and the Anshun Bridge. Includes 5 km along the Jinjiang River.
Several km of paths & sidewalks along or above the Jinjiang River which are decent for running. One 7.6 km section runs from Culture Park east to Wangjianglou Park. A southern section goes from Donghu Park to Chengdu Ring Road (6.5 km).
The roads of Chengdu are organized in a series of concentric circles, with Tianfu Square at the center. The elevated Second Ring Road has a pedestrian path running beneath the highway for its entire 30 km length. Add-ons in Huanhuaxi Park, and Dongu Park.
Huanhuaxi Park is a large green space located between the Qingshui River and Huanhua Brook in western Chengdu. There are plenty of paths, and runners can cross onto the grounds of Du Fu Cottage for a small fee.
On the far north side of Chengdu, Phoenix Mountains Park is a prime location for a long and varied run. There is a ~1 km running track and more than 5 km of other paths. Paths on Dongfeng Canal just north of the park for a longer run.
Donghu Park is a great starting place for a run along the upper branch of the Jinjiang River. There is a multi-use path along the Jinjiang River for about 6.6 km between the 2nd Ring Road and the Chengdu Ring Road (G4201)
